A special little someone turned a big 2 years old this week! Marilyn obviously enjoyed her birthday cake.. **click images to enlarge Miles was slightly pensive about the whole thing. I think he was still deciding if he enjoyed being surrounded by so many girls.. **click images to enlarge Cousins enjoyed some down time together... And Marilyn played with her new presents..until she decided that it would be more fun to break every crayon in half rathar than draw with them..
Yes, I repeat myself so quickly with Part II of My favorite little models but how can I resist when they are just so darn adorable?! Marilyn (in the first picture) is so shy in person, yet when she sees the camera, immediately turns into a wonderful model. Her big brown eyes captivate me and the camera. The second picture features cousins Elizabeth and Bella. They are best-est friends whenever they get a chance to hang out. Where ever Bella found that forlorn look on her face, I don't know because she is such a happy girl..though it did make for a sweet photograph! Carlo is the big boy in the group, recently he just turned 3 years old and his face is full of mischief in the most innocent way possible! The last picture is my very own baby girl, Seraphina. She is just barely 5 months old and is the youngest of all the cousins. She looks so distinguished in this picture..as if she had just said "ok, mommy, I am ready for my close-up". She is already use to the constant camera presence. And she better be..with a Photographer Mom, there's no getting around it, she will always be my 1st model! **click images to enlarge
I'm no chef but I do know my way around a blender, so I especially love to make my baby girl her baby food! Today I had a lot of fun puree-ing some zucchini, carrots, corn & peaches for her and as I was spooning them into the ice cube trays I noticed how picture-esque the bright veggies and fruit looked in the star trays. **click images to enlarge As I was snapping away, the peach pits and some garlic caught my eye.. I love when such seemingly mundane occasions turn into impromptu photoshoots! Those are usually the most fun.
I love love love taking pictures of children! I like to get down on their level and in their environment and capture their essence. Thank goodness I have so any adorable nieces and nephews and I definitely take advantage of their cuteness and take pictures of them whenever I can.
Here are a few of my favorites from a few days ago when I got the chance to hang out with a few of them. Miles, the handsome fellow in the first picture, is 7 months old, Elizabeth, in the second picture, is almost 6 years old and Marilyn (Elizabeth's sister) in the last picture is nearly 2. I know one day, they will have the voice and attitude to not cooperate for my impromptu photoshoots..Liz was already the hardest to wrangle for this one surprisingly!..but until then, I will continue snapping away. |
