In an effort to keep up with the times and always have my camera in hand, here is my new blog. Let me first start by introducing myself.
I grew up in Winston-Salem, NC and attended Randolph Community College in Asheboro, NC, acheiving my Associates in Commercial Photography. I moved to Brooklyn, NY where I interned with 2 Photographers in NYC. The Big Apple is where I met and fell in love with my husband and after my love-affair with the City, we moved out to Long Island, where it was much more my pace (a Carolina girl at heart). I worked with a Wedding Photographer out on the East End. After living in New York for 6 years, we decided that it was time to make North Carolina our home and we have recently moved back to the area. I am very excited to be back, it is so much different from when I lived here 10 years ago. Winston-Salem is a beautiful and eccletic mix of old tobacco warehouses, new buildings, and green parks. One of my favorite parts of Winston-Salem is when you are driving down Business I40 West and have the beautiful Downtown Winston-Salem directly to the right of you, a wonderful mix of old and new buildings and warehouses, then-bam-the new stadium. So with being back here in my hometown, I am ready to embark on my mission of always keeping my camera on hand (which is ofcourse extremely important when you are a Photographer..but I have understandably gotten a little side-tracked with the birth of my baby girl in February) and capturing all the little things that I overlooked when I grew up here. I am excited about cotinually discovering little things in this big-little city through my lens and my imagination. Here is the beginning of me facing my fears of technology(being the ever-ominous Blog which I have avoided started for so long) and keeping a semi-daily record of what's going on in this world of mine and yours. |
