How did it take me so long to discover Washington Park?? I spent a few hours of a beautiful day wandering around this park and was amazed at its beauty..in my opinion, it rivals Central Park in New York City, at a much smaller scale. It had a grand entrance, stone walkways and bridges, old old huge trees and playgrounds and benches that just beckoned you to stay for a while. Washington Park was designed in the mid-1890's and was originally centered around a streetcar line (how cool is that to think of how life once was here a hundred years ago?!). It has since grown from a 17 acre park to 75-acres that is nestled amongst several neighborhoods just South of Downtown Winston-Salem. Here's just a glimpse... Care for a drink? Is it possible to love sun flare and close-ups too much? Maybe..but I don't care! **click images to enlarge
There are tons of things that I cherish in this world of mine but there are two things in particular that I hold especially dear to my heart, children & animals.
Not only do I have 6 adorable neices and nephews but I also have a beautiful baby girl who recently turned 6 months old. I L-O-V-E taking pictures of children and being a kid myself while I roll around on the ground with them to capture their absolute essence. I have also always been an animal lover. From lizards, frogs, fish and turtles to hamsters, rabbits, cats and dogs, I have accumulated a nice selection of pets over the years. My current companions have all come to me by either a local animal shelter or being found as a stray. With that being said, I decided that the time is now that I should give back to 2 causes that mean a lot to me. With every Pet/Animal Portrait Session you purchase, I will donate 10% of the purchase price to AARF, a local animal adoption & rescue foundation. Founded in 1995, AARF is committed to helping cats and dogs find loving homes. You can find more information about this great organization here: http://www.aarfanimals.org/about With every Child Portrait Session you purchase, I will donate 10% of the purchase price to the Ronald McDonald House Charities. The Ronald McDonald House offers a "home away from home" atmosphere for parents and family of hospitilized children to stay at for little to no cost to them. You can find more information about The Ronald McDonald House Charities here: http://rmhc.org/ I encourage you to check out both of these organizations and help me help them by booking your next session with me! Conact me at [email protected] for more information! Reynolda Gardens is one of my favorite places to go and explore in Winston-Salem. I almost felt like I was in a lovely oasis as I was walking through the lush trails with the sun creeping through the foilage, casting shadows and flare through the luminous leaves. As you look through the images, you notice why the title to this blog is "Green is the Theme"..the rain the day before must have awoken every little plant in those woods because the colors were outstanding. **click images to enlarge
Kelsey is a beauitful aspiring model that I got to photograph the other day. The setting was amazing..lush country-side with the golden light of the setting sun surrounding us. The light that was out there that evening is truely my favorite, it's so warm and inviting. The only time that is better is the early fall..which is right around the corner. I see pumpkins, mums, mountain trips and beautiful Autumn colors in my future! *click images to enlarge
Well, the title pretty much sums it up..I have my Etsy site FINALLY up and running, with actual stuff on it no less! I've been thinking about starting an Etsy page for a long time, probably since my sister, Jessica, started hers for her jewelry line Soul Energy Jewelry www.etsy.com/shop/soulenergy. This is a slow process for me, but it has been a long time coming. While I had set up my page back in April, I finally added a few photographs for sale just yesterday, August 6. I only have a few on there right now but I plan to add more daily-so check back often! WWW.ETSY.COM/SHOP/MARCIBRUNOPHOTO A special little someone turned a big 2 years old this week! Marilyn obviously enjoyed her birthday cake.. **click images to enlarge Miles was slightly pensive about the whole thing. I think he was still deciding if he enjoyed being surrounded by so many girls.. **click images to enlarge Cousins enjoyed some down time together... And Marilyn played with her new presents..until she decided that it would be more fun to break every crayon in half rathar than draw with them..
